Cooking is a daily activity that is as old as man. Ever since the dawn of our history, we have always gathered around a fire, communicated, shared pleasant moments; the heat of the kitchen has always represented the family’s warmth. The goal of the Master is to investigate on new typologies of spaces we live in, on new cooking appliances, and new ways to cook thanks to the IH device (Induction Heating device) in order to improve, broaden, and facilitate culinary activities, to meet future needs. Let’s design hospitality, feelings, the pleasure of spending time together. Nowadays technology offers us new opportunities that can replace the fire, while keeping its symbolic values: the IH device not only assures safe heat, but is also less time consuming. It is a key tool that will change the way we prepare food, providing new spaces and ways to cook. The current trends are opening the kitchen to enjoy the cooking spaces, eat and relax, for a greater and greater quality. Let’s design household appliances relating not only to the preparation of food, but to other activities as well: heating, entertainment, etc., proposing new styles and new materials, and possibly using the IT (Information Technology).

  Mitsubishi Misto

Our kitchens have changed. More happens in them than just cooking… we eat, we work, we talk, we laugh. Using IH technology the Mitsubishi Misto makes it possible for all these things to happen at the same place; the table you eat at is the table you cook at, is also the table where you work and the place where you entertain. The form of the surface alters to reflect your needs. Cook a meal at one end while someone is online at the other. Fluid and flexible as contemporary lifestyle, it brings the family and all their activities together in one setting. A new center of the home.

  Warmware

A family of three portable devices for reheating food on-the-go. A bag allows you to heat your food anywhere at anytime. A scarf with gloves contains a hot cap for a hot beverage away from the kitchen. Pull a hot hood over a bowl and warm food without the need of the microwave. Each design is derived from pulling the IH copper coil and forming it into fabric wearables. These products take Induction Heating technology out of the static kitchen stovetop and into our flexible modern lifestyles.
